After being selected first overall in the 1980 NFL Draft, Lions running back Billy Sims put together an NFL debut to remember in Week 1 of the 1980 NFL Season. Carrying the rock 22 times, he tallied 153 yards on the ground, scoring three times from 10, one, and 41 yards out, respectively. He also caught two passes in this one for another 64 yards, giving him 217 yards of total offense in his first NFL action. Detroit would go on to win this one over the Rams, 41-20, on Sept. 7, 1980.
