In the opening week of the 1987 NFL Season, Rams linebacker Kevin Greene made one of the more remarkable interceptions in league history. Coming on the blitz, Greene stuck out his arm to try to knock down a pass out to the flat, batting the ball out in front of him. The ball then careened back upwards off his hand as he swatted it back up to himself, before he reached out with his other hand to bring the ball in and secure the first interception of his NFL career. He then continued running down the field for the first touchdown of his NFL career, extending the Rams lead. Greene also added a sack in this one, as the Rams fell to the Oilers, 20-16, on Sept. 13, 1987.
