Sparingly used, and something of a best-kept secret over the NFL season’s first few weeks, Edgerrin Cooper could be safely described as being brought along slowly for the Green Bay Packers’ defense. Putting an end to both that assessment, and the Rams’ offensive drive at once during Week 5, the second-round linebacker turns his mug of the A-gap into a beautifully-timed stunt, capturing Los Angeles’ Pro Bowl quarterback for a sack on third-and-long. Deployed creatively across Green Bay’s defensive alignments, Cooper’s statistics reflected as such, as he turned in five tackles (one for a loss) and two QB hits during a 24-19 win on Oct. 6, 2024.
