Life had the potential to become difficult for Green Bay’s offense on Oct. 27, 2024, upon recognizing that conquering Jacksonville would have to be done without the luxury of its franchise quarterback. Equipped with a plan — and the skillset to make it happen — Edgerrin Cooper cemented himself as one of the afternoon’s heroes, turning a late arrival within the Packers’ pass rush into a deceptive blitz and game-altering strip sack. Elite as a run stuffer, coverage defender, and blitzer alike, Cooper’s excellence on this play helped provide the Packers with both advantageous field position and ultimately, a touchdown just two plays later. Rewards were aplenty, as Cooper, through nine tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble, coordinated a 30-27 win over the Jaguars, and became Green Bay’s first rookie to win NFC Defensive Player of the Week since 2009.
