Though he was very reliable as a possession receiver, Terance Mathis could also use his speed to break away from a defense without much issue, as he demonstrated twice in this matchup between Atlanta and New Orleans. In the first quarter, Mathis caught a pass up the seam, broke away from two tackle attempts, and flew down the field for a 62-yard score. Later, in the fourth quarter, he struck again, this time turning on the jets after a catch to score from 63 yards out. All told, Mathis tallied 198 yards on six catches in this one, scoring twice, as the Falcons beat the Saints, 27-17, on Dec. 13, 1998.
