In a playoff battle between the Broncos and Oilers, Denver linebacker Karl Mecklenburg dropped back in coverage and snatched this pass out of the air deep in the red zone to end the Houston scoring schance. He then pushed upfield 18 yards on a physical return that substantially improved the field position for the Denver offense. Mecklenburg and the Broncos defense were strong in this one, as Denver beat the Oilers, 34-10, on Jan. 10, 1988.
