On this day relatively early in the Raider legend's sensational career, Howie Long was an unstoppable force that could not be dealt with by the Washington offense. Play after play, Long was there to disrupt the passing game's rhythm, and by the time the game ended, he had received credit for a total of five sacks, a career-high for the iconic pass rusher. Despite Long's efforts, though, the Raiders would ultimately fall in this one, 37-35, on Oct. 2, 1983.
