Remembered in the history books with a 12.5-sack season in the blue-and-red threads just one year prior, Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard certainly had a way of showing his former teammates how much he missed their company. In a hurry to get reacquainted with the Texans’ Pro Bowl quarterback from his stand-up position, Greenard — relishing a one-on-one against a rookie tight end — bulldozes through for a first quarter sack. Taking a less scenic route with an interior rush a few quarters later, Greenard again enters the backfield, dropping Houston’s signal-caller, fittingly, before he can finish his drop. Helping Minnesota reinforce the legitimacy of its undefeated start, the eventually-named NFC Defensive Player of the Week, tallied four tackles (three solo) and three sacks in a 34-7 statement win on Sept. 22, 2024.
