Only a half-decade removed from climbing the receiving charts in “The Music City,” Derrick Mason — speeding up his tempo during a downfield “go route” — found that excellence looked all the same, even in Baltimore’s uniform. Driven by the goal of pairing his eight different 1,000-yard seasons with a Super Bowl conquest, Mason overwhelmed his former team during the AFC’s Divisional Round, racing towards the end zone to reel in a game-tying, 48-yard touchdown. In what became a defensive slugfest shortly thereafter, Mason’s five-catch, 78-yard, one-touchdown contribution became enough to fuel the Ravens’ 13-10 win over the Tennessee Titans on Jan. 10, 2009.
