Knowing no tackle he couldn’t make during his five-year reign in black-and-orange, Takeo Spikes decided that in his first-ever game against his former team, he would reap the benefits of his teammates’ pursuits, instead. Reintroducing himself in the loudest way possible, Buffalo’s newly-acquired, Pro Bowl-bound linebacker demonstrated discipline, parlaying his pass rushers’ fierce hunt of the Bengals’ quarterback into an interception, followed by a 62-yard touchdown return. Once drafted by Cincinnati at No. 13 overall in 1998’s NFL Draft, Spikes won the battle of exes on Dec. 19, 2004, accumulating three tackles (two solo), a fumble recovery, and the aforementioned pick-six during the Bills’ 33-17 win.
